City of Saratoga Traveler's Information System Radio
The City of Saratoga has a radio station that broadcasts on 1610 AM. It originates from a 10 watt, low-power broadcast station licensed from the FCC, and is intended to provide information to motorists and residents. The radio station can be heard throughout the community and broadcasts information related to road closures, community events and emergency information. All information is from pre-recorded broadcasts. The recorded segment can be up to 7 minutes in length. Two minutes of local National Weather Service broadcast information is played in-between the City's recorded messages.
The voices heard on the City's broadcast messages were selected by a "Voice of Saratoga" competition held in 2006. They are employees of the City, Saratoga Fire Department or the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office Westside Division, who had an interest in participating, and auditioned for the role.
If there is a problem with the recordings or transmitter please call the City Clerk, Ann Sullivan, at 408.868.1269.
