Members of the following commitees serve as representatives of Saratoga. These committees are managed by government agencies or other organizations.

VTA Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC)
Committee Profile:
Each member agency – the County and each city in the County – has 1 representative on the BPAC. Appointees must be part of the Member Agency’s local bicycle advisory committee. Members must live or work in Santa Clara County. The purpose of this Committee is to
  • provide feedback to VTA’s Congestion Management Program staff
  • coordinate with bicycle and pedestrian advisory committees of other agencies on multi-jurisdictional matters
  • coordinate with the County Trails Committee as needed
  • make recommendations to the VTA Board of Directors on the Countywide priority list of bicycle and pedestrian projects for the TDA Article 3 program and serve as the countywide bicycle and pedestrian advisory committee for Santa Clara County

Wednesday following the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Housing & Community Advisory Committee (HCDAC)
Committee Profile:
This Committee is comprised of one member of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors; one member of the City Council from each of the non-entitlement cities in the Urban County CDBG and Home programs; one member of the community of each of the participating cities; and one member selected by each member of the Board of Supervisors. The purpose of this Committee is to make funding recommendations on CDBG and HOME projects and programs to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
Meeting Schedule:
Meetings are held 5 times a year - on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

Advisory Council to the Council on Aging
Committee Profile:

Each city in Santa Clara County has a representative on this Council and must be over 60 years of age. The purpose of this Council is to make funding recommendations about who should receive funds and how much be allocated to the Council on Aging.

Meeting Schedule:

Meetings are held 10 times per year, usually held the 1st Monday of the month
Santa Clara Senior Center from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Water Pollution Control Plant Master Plan Community Advisory Group
Committee Profile:

Representatives from San Jose and tributary cities served by the Water Pollution Control Plant, including Santa Clara, Milpitas, Campbell, Cupertino, Monte Sereno, Los Gatos and Saratoga, help guide the 3-year Plant Master Plan process by providing input and suggestions from a community perspective throughout the development of the Master Plan.

Meeting Schedule:

After this 3-year period, the group will be deactivated in 2011.
