Traffic Safety Commission

The Traffic Safety Commission investigates, reviews and analyzes traffic safety issues raised by the Community members and Public Safety Agencies. It provides a venue for the public to express concerns regarding traffic safety issues. The Traffic Safety Commission makes recommendations to the City regarding traffic safety. As an advisory agency the Commission is not authorized to set City policy.

Mission Statement

To support the City in its endeavor to provide safe streets for the citizens of Saratoga and to promote education in the Community regarding traffic, bicycle and pedestrian safety.

Meeting Schedule

Meets the second Thursday every other month.
The meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and are held in the Administrative Conference Room at 13777 Fruitvale Avenue

Oak Street Neighborhood Task Force

History
At the December 13, 2007 Traffic Safety Commission meeting, the Commission initiated the formation of a Task Force whose charter will be to look at traffic and pedestrian patterns in the Oak Street neighborhood in a comprehensive manner. A letter was sent to residents on December 21, 2007 informing them about the creation of the Task Force.

The Task force is made up of:

Neighborhood Representatives: Jeff Barco, Bill Brown, John Hollingsworth, Dave Lemire, Ray Persico, Keith Rieken, & Bob Shepherd

Saratoga Elementary School Representatives: Sarah Okuno & Lane Weiss

Community Representative: Brigitte Ballingall

Traffic Safety Commission Representatives: Judy Coulter & Mitch Kane
