Big Basin Way - Village Pedestrian Enhancement Project
The City of Saratoga through its contractor Robert A. Bothman, Inc. will be improving and beautifying Big Basin Way at the intersections at 4th Street, 3rd Street, and Blaney Plaza.  Improvements include street crossing improvements and minor sidewalk repair, bicycle enhancements, pedestrian bulb outs, landscaping, hanging flower baskets on light poles, irrigation, and street furniture. The construction will start the week of June 28th at 4th Street.  Any major work not completed by Thanksgiving will be completed after the holiday season. All streets and sidewalks will generally remain open during construction. There may be some short periods of time where traffic will be detoured around the construction.

You can view the project plans on the City’s website. Please contact Macedonio Nunez, Project Manager, at (408) 868-1208 if you have any questions regarding the project.

Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road - Calabazas Creek Flood Protection
Beginning in August 2010, the Santa Clara Valley Water District will begin work on a multipurpose flood protection project along Calabazas Creek from Miller Avenue to Wardell Road. The project will include replacement of a section of culvert under Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and the replacement of an existing Union Pacific Railroad wooden pedestrian bridge with a larger capacity concrete bridge. Residents can expect traffic delays on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road in both directions while construction is in progress. Once completed, the improvements along Calabazas Creek will help protect neighboring homes from flooding.

Please contact the Water District at (408) 265-2607 with any questions about this project.
