Saratoga's Tobacco Policies Named Top of the Class!
The American Lung Association awarded Saratoga an "A" grade in its annual State of Tobacco Control Report for California! This grade was earned due to the City Council’s significant tobacco control policy changes, demonstrating a commitment to protecting the public from secondhand smoke and reducing youth access to tobacco products. Saratoga is one of only twenty-one cities in the state to receive an overall “A” grade for its tobacco control policies and now holds the highest overall grade of all cities in Santa Clara County. Additionally, Saratoga was recognized as one of three “Cities on the Rise” in Santa Clara County and was one of four jurisdictions statewide that joined the “Top of the Class” list. This award also follows Saratoga’s receipt of the “Best in Tobacco-Free Communities” award at the Santa Clara County Healthy Cities Conference in November.
