The City of Saratoga's Environmental Program oversees the solid waste programs, promotes environmental services available to the community, advocates for Green Business practices, and ensures the City's compliance with the State’s environmental requirements.

In December 2020, the City adopted a Climate Action Plan, which contains specific strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Saratoga.

Silicon Valley Clean Energy
Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) works in partnership with PG&E by purchasing electricity directly and using PG&E infrastructure to deliver cleaner, more renewable energy to customers in Saratoga and twelve other communities in Santa Clara County. Residential customers can opt to subscribe to Green Prime to receive 100% renewable energy.
