Red Curb Guidelines

“No red curb where bike lines, fire hydrants, within intersections, or any other case already California Vehicle Code enforceable. Red curb shall be considered along streets with both high volumes and high speeds where visibility is a problem, and where collisions record shows a collision pattern that could be corrected with a red curb. Discretion used for low volume streets where speeds are moderate, no collision record, and volumes are relatively low. Red curb must not be for the purpose of moving parking elsewhere, e.g. school spillover parking.”
