Mosaic Monarchs of Monterey
Thursday, November 15, 2018
The City of Saratoga Recreation Department Great Getaways Program offers trips for all ages, except where noted. Join us for a unique trip to Monterey! The main event will be a visit to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. Arriving in October, monarch butterflies cluster together on pine, cypress, and eucalyptus trees in the Sanctuary. Their migration to Pacific Grove is so unique that Pacific Grove is nicknamed "Butterfly Town, U.S.A." Before the visit to the Sanctuary, we will be the first guest to see 3 new exhibits in the Monterey Museum of Art. After the Monterey Museum of Art, we will make our way to the Fish Hopper to enjoy an amazing lunch. We will be seated in a private room with views you have to see to believe. After lunch, we will make our way to the beautiful Monarch Gardens. We will take a walk with a few docents who will share information about the Monarchs and give us instruments to better view them.
