September 15 City Council Meeting

The September 15 City Council meeting agenda is available online at www.saratoga.ca.us/agenda. Council meetings continue to be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Members of the public can speak on items they are interested in by joining the meeting using the Zoom website or app, or by calling in. Detailed participation instructions are available on the meeting agenda. The meeting can also be viewed without participation options on KSAR Channel 15 or the City’s website at www.saratoga.ca.us/watch. The public can also send written comments to the City Council before the meeting using the Council comment form at www.saratoga.ca.us/comment

Energy Efficiency & Electrification Webinar

The Santa Clara County Office of Sustainability invites Saratoga homeowners to a free energy efficiency and electrification webinar on Tuesday, September 14 from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. Learn about upgrades that will address energy costs in your home and available cash rebates.

The webinar will feature presentations about the following topics:

Energy efficiency improvements
Home electrification – switching from gas to electric appliances
Residential solar and battery storage
Rebates and financing options

Community Preparedness Month - Make a Plan

Community Preparedness Month is recognized each September to promote family and community emergency planning throughout the year. Many kinds of emergencies can cause you to evacuate. In some cases, you may have a day or two to prepare, while other situations might call for an immediate evacuation. Planning is vital to making sure that you can evacuate quickly and safely no matter what the circumstances.

Always map out several routes with safe locations to meet up in case you become separated. Make sure that each family has a copy of this route in their go bag. Make sure you have food, water, medications, and other supplies that meet the unique needs of your family, including pets. Be prepared that communication networks could be unreliable and power could be disrupted. Have a family communication plan in place, including a paper contact list and an out-of-area contact to help keep your family connected should you become separated.
