Free COVID Testing

You have multiple opportunities to get tested for COVID-19 in Saratoga in the next few weeks:

On March 29, the County will offer free COVID-19 testing from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Saratoga Prospect Center in Friendship Hall. Schedule an appointment online.
On April 3, 10, and 24, Big Bank Artwork will offer free drive through COVID-19 testing from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Saratoga Prospect Center, 19848 Prospect Road. Schedule an appointments online.

Volunteer at Quarry Park

The Parks and Recreation Commission's Let's Work Program helps beautify and maintain the trails at Quarry Park. The last meetup of the season is Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. Please visit www.saratoga.ca.us/volunteer to submit volunteer forms by March 30. Volunteers should meet in the Quarry Park parking lot and bring gloves, water, and sunscreen. Please wear closed-toed shoes and long sleeves.

Get Rid of Electronic and Household Waste

It's officially spring and if you’re doing any spring cleaning, make sure you’re disposing of electronics and household waste responsibly. If you’re getting rid of televisions, computer monitors, fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, or used motor oil, call West Valley Collection & Recycling at 408.283.9250 to schedule a free drop off for these items Tuesday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Take Advantage of the Free Chipping Program

Did you know you can request a chipper to come to your home to process tree branches and other vegetative materials? This free service is provided by the Santa Clara County FireSafe Council to help residents create defensible space around their homes. The online application period is open. The Blossom Festival Returns

The Blossom Festival is back and in full bloom! Bring your family or your best buds and enjoy live music, gourmet food trucks, an orchard tour, local art, and vintage cars. Produced by the Saratoga Historical Foundation, this free event will have something for everyone. Share Your Feedback on Safe Routes to School

Attention parents, students, and community members! You're invited to review the map of school locations and recommended projects in the Safe Routes to School Master Plan, and share your feedback with the Traffic Safety Commission. Safe Routes to School is a movement to create safe travel opportunities for children to walk or bike to school and community members to walk or bike around their neighborhoods. Attention Teens: Enter this Film Competition!

Do you know a high school student interested in what a clean energy future would look like? Silicon Valley Clean Energy is providing $20,000 in scholarships for students as part of the second Empower Silicon Valley Youth Short-Film Competition! Online entries are due by Monday, May 2.

Through a short-film, local youth are invited to explore what a climate-friendly, clean energy world would look like and how we will get there.
