Holiday Tree Lighting

Kick off the holidays with a one-of-a-kind Saratoga tradition! Enjoy the festivities the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 25 in downtown Saratoga. The Tree Lighting Ceremony is free to attend and begins at 5:30 p.m. in Blaney Plaza.

Come early and stay throughout the evening to enjoy a variety of holiday activities for all ages, hosted by the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce and Village businesses, including:

  • Extended Shopping Hours
  • Business Open House
  • History Museum Holiday Exhibit
  • Wine Stroll
  • Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
  • Candy Cane Lane Children’s Area
  • Holiday Music & Performances

New Play Equipment at Beauchamps Park

This week, we celebrated completion of the Beauchamps Park Playground Replacement Project, which included replacing outdated playground equipment, adding accessible features for all abilities, and resurfacing tennis and basketball courts. We hope you visit, play, and enjoy!

City Hiring Permit Technician

The City of Saratoga is hiring a Permit Technician! Learn more and apply online by Sunday, November 27 at 5:00 p.m. 

This member of our team:

  • Provides a high level of customer service in a fast-paced permit center
  • Assists the public, City staff, building contractors, architects, and engineers
  • Explains ordinances, requirements, City codes, and department procedures
  • Issues building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical permits
  • Supports Community Development Department services & activities

LawTes with Deputies

Grab a coffee with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office West Valley Patrol Division on Thursday, December 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Starbucks Coffee, 12960 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. Stop by and meet with Sheriff’s Deputies to discuss community concerns, learn about crime trends, Neighborhood Watch Programs, or just simply say hello and enjoy a cup of coffee! 

Housing Element Update

The initial draft of the City’s 2023-2031 Housing Element was submitted to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) after receiving public comment. HCD conducted its preliminary review and provided comments on the initial draft. The City is currently reviewing the State's comment letter and will provide more information, including opportunities for the community to provide input, in the coming weeks.

Visit www.saratoga.ca.us/housing to view the HCD Comment Letter and subscribe to the Housing Element Newsletter to be notified when the City's draft responses to the State are available for public review, find out when the City Council will consider draft responses, and receive information on opportunities to provide your input.
