Youth in Government Program
High school students who live in Saratoga are invited to learn about local government during the Youth in Government Program, a 1-week summer internship that provides students with the chance to learn about local government, gain hands-on experience, and earn 34 hours of service credits (including 12 hours spent outside of class on assignments). The program cost is $75 per student. Spaces are very limited. Register by July 9 at www.saratoga.ca.us/yig
Community Emergency Response Team Academy
In the event of an area-wide disaster, critical infrastructure and emergency services will be impacted. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) academy trains residents to prepare for and respond to life-threatening events in their community. CERT members can mobilize neighborhood resources, deliver immediate assistance to victims, organize emergency communications, and provide support to first responders. Santa Clara County Fire will be hosting a hybrid CERT Academy that runs from June 8 through August 5.
Sign up today to learn disaster preparedness skills that may help you, your family, and your neighbors get through a disaster.
