Stay Safe in the Hot Weather
Warmer temperatures are returning to Santa Clara County. Now is the time to protect yourselves and your loved ones from the impacts of heat risk, which can include heatstroke, heat exhaustion, heat cramps, sunburn, rash, and other serious conditions.
We encourage you to take the necessary precautions, including:
- Drink plenty of water and fluids with electrolytes, even if you do not feel thirsty.
- Limit physical activity during peak heat hours.
- Never leave children and/or pets in a parked car.
- Wear light-colored, loose-fitting, or lightweight clothing.
- Check on your family, friends, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to heat impacts.
If you see someone in distress due to the heat impacts, call 9-1-1.
If you need a place to stay cool, the Saratoga Library will be open as a Cooling Center, and other locations are available throughout Santa Clara County.
Please visit preparescc.org/heatsafety for more safety tips and Cooling Center details.
