Hot Weather Safety Tips
Warmer temperatures are returning to Santa Clara County this weekend. Protect yourselves and your loved ones from the impacts of heat risk, which can include heatstroke, heat exhaustion, heat cramps, sunburn, rash, and other serious conditions.
Stay cool by staying hydrated. Drink water, even when you don't feel thirsty, and avoid alcoholic and sugary drinks. Limit physical activity, especially during peak hours. Stay indoors in air conditioned spaces. Check on older adults. Don't leave children or pets in hot cars. If you see someone in distress due to the heat impacts, call 9-1-1. If you need a place to stay cool, Cooling Centers are available throughout Santa Clara County.
Please visit preparescc.org/heatsafety for more safety tips and to find a Cooling Center near you.
